William “Smitty” Smith, 57, of Beaumont, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home.  He was born on August 5, 1955, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Elaine Ruth Albin Smith and Bob Lemoine Smith.  Smitty was a United States Army veteran and automobile mechanic. Smitty was an avid Nascar fan and was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and overall big heart.

Survivors include his wife, Sabine Smith; children, Daniel Tobias Smith and his wife, Meagan Ravey, of Beaumont; Nicole Oriana Smith of Houston; and Tommy Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Robin Shackelford and her husband, Don, of Waynesville, Missouri; brother, Bob Smith of Des Moines, Iowa; and several nieces and a great-nephew.

A gathering of Mr. Smith’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
