Douglas Clay “Tuff” Dishman left his home on Dishman Road to be with his daddy “Bear” on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. He was the third son of J.C. Dishman and Ginger Ann Dishman. A life long resident of Beaumont, Texas, he was born on April 13, 1962. Tuff was a 1980 graduate of Forest Park High School. He competed in high school rodeo and pursed his passion of his family heritage by farming rice and soybeans and raising cattle. In the mid 80’s he became partners with his two brothers and his mother in Dishman & Sons Farms.

Tuff loved the farming and ranching way of life. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing with his good friends, caring for his animals, and just taking in the things that made up his way of life. He had a remarkable gift for telling stories and reliving the memories of his youth. His knack for “one-liners” kept the people around him smiling and rolling with laughter.

A devoted uncle, Tuff considered his two nephews and his niece his children. His family farm and ranch was the most important aspect in his life. His generosity and livelihood will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Ginger Ann Dishman; fiancée, Jackie Sterling; brothers, Rodney Dishman and his wife, Libbie and Tim “Monk” Dishman and his wife, Kay, all of Beaumont; and Skipper Tammen and his wife, Deborah, of Round Rock; nephews, Josey Dishman and Zach Dishman and his wife, Ashley, and their children, Dalton and Makenna Dishman; and niece, Zane Blank and her husband, Kyle, and their daughter, Adalyn Blank.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Clyde Dishman, Jr.

A gathering of Mr. Dishman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
