Donald Lee Peveto
November 26, 1932 - May 23, 2013

Donald Lee Peveto, 80, of Beaumont, was called home to the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born on November 26, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas, where he attended South Park High School and Lamar Institute of Technology.

Donald was a proud veteran serving his country in the Korean War, on the front line as member of the United States Army. He was co-owner and operator of City Appliance Service in Beaumont. Before his Parkinson’s became severe, he enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife as well as spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Donald had a love of life and expressed that freely with his sense of humor, kindness toward family and friends, and his devotion to his wife and family.  He was a wonderful husband, dad and “dad-o”.

His parents, Sophie Gladys Bryant and Ray Peveto; as well as his youngest daughter, Donna Tomberlin, preceded Donald in death.

Donald is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Jean Peveto; daughter, Vicki Powell and her husband, Mitchell; grandson, Chad Powell and his wife, Lindsey; granddaughter, Gina Mackowski; and great-grandsons, Dustin, Dillan, and Hudson, all of Beaumont; brother, James Ray “Pete” Peveto of Kentucky; sister, Betty Dupre of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of Donald’s life will begin Saturday, May 25, 2013,  and continue on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Singzon, Dr. S. Quraishi, and the staff and health care providers at Harbor Hospice for their support and kindness.
