Helen E. Rake, 80, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home, Bonham. She was born on March 1, 1933, in Pineland, to Vera Farley Baker and George W. Baker, and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1960.

Helen was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. She developed lifelong friendships through this organization while serving her community. Helen and her husband, Forrest, were active members of First United Methodist Church in Beaumont.  Helen was also a long-time employee of DuPont in Mid-County.

Helen is survived by her husband, Forrest E. Rake; son, Stewart Rake of Sherman; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Michael Bohmfalk of Round Rock; grandsons, David Rake, Patrick Bohmfalk, and Ian Bohmfalk; and granddaughters, Margaret Rake and Ashlynn Bohmfalk.

A gathering of Mrs. Rake’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
