William L. “Bill” Johnson, 85, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on October 1, 1927, in Alabama, to Clara and Evie Johnson, and had been a longtime resident of the Beaumont area. Bill was retired from the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Martha Johnson; daughters, Denise Watkins and her husband, Stan, of Houston and Sabrina Roper of Corpus Christi; son, Aaron Johnson and his wife, Whitney, of Corpus Christi; grandsons, Gary Mathis and his wife, Katherine, Lex Johnson, and David Falcon; great-grandchildren, Jordan Mathis, Taylor Mathis, Sebastian Falcon, Destinee Ledbetter, and Aaron Falcon; and sister, Virginia Johnson of Oklahoma.

A gathering of Mr. Johnson’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service for Mr. Johnson will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.
