Sara Parigi Marino 
November 15, 1927 - May 19, 2013

Sara Parigi Marino, 85, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Katy, Texas. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born to Concetta Brocato Parigi and Joseph Salvador Parigi, on November 15, 1927.

 

Mrs. Marino graduated from Beaumont High School.  She was a lifelong member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Beaumont, where she served for many years as an adult advisor for the Catholic Youth Organization, and later as a faithful member of the St. Pius X Ladies. Sara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an amazing cook and master fudge maker. Sara enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and dominos, and watching the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.

 

Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marino; parents, Joe S. and Concetta Parigi;  brothers, Sam Parigi and Dominic Parigi; sisters, Concetta Drago, Johanna Fertitta and Santa Marino; and sister-in-law, Luce Parigi.

 

Survivors include her sisters, Josephine Drago and Frances Fontana of Port Arthur; Rose Rinando and Annie Coco of Beaumont; and sister-in-law, Imogene Parigi of Beaumont.   Daughter, Roselee Ergenbright and her husband, Bill Ergenbright, of Katy, Texas; and granddaughter, Kate Ergenbright of Austin. Daughter, Marilyn Hutchison of Austin, Texas; and granddaughter, Emily Kneuper of Austin; and grandson, Eric Hutchison of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Daughter, Jody Simonson of Boerne, Texas; and granddaughters, Sara Bruce of Williams, Oregon, Dawn Johnson, Holly Simonson, and Erin Seilhan, all of San Antonio. Son, Frank Marino of Beaumont; and grandsons, Frank Marino of Warren, Jacob Marino of Orange,  and Joey Marino of Silsbee; and granddaughter, Kelli Parks of Deweyville. Son, Michael Marino of Morrison, Tennessee and his wife, Lois Marino; granddaughter, Rhoda Marino; and grandsons,  Stephen Marino, Ezra Marino, and Jonathan Marino of Morrison, Tennessee. Son, Tony Marino of Beaumont; granddaughter, Erica Marino of Newport Beach, California; and grandson, Tony Marino of Beaumont. Daughter, Francine Stanley; and grandson, Sean Stanley of Spring, Texas. Daughter, Sally Wheat and her husband, Mark Wheat; grandson, Nick Wheat; and granddaughter, Sara Wheat, all of Houston, Texas.

 

A Rosary for Mrs. Marino will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont,  with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

 

The family would especially like to thank those who helped cared for Mrs. Marino in her later years, especially Tonette Acevedo and all of the nurses and caregivers at Grace Care Center of Katy.
