Victor Joseph Campbell 
July 26, 1941 - May 17, 2013

Victor Joseph Campbell, 71, of Vidor, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, in Beaumont.  He was born on July 26, 1941, in Liverpool, England, to Florence Wallace Campbell and Michael Campbell. 

 

He went to sea at age 15, in the Norwegian Merchant Marines and later settled in Southeast Texas. He worked for MetLife and later as an independent insurance agent. A Godly man, he put family second only to his faith. He loved his children and grandchildren, regaling people with stories of their achievements. Never meeting a stranger, he took every opportunity to spread God’s word and touched the lives of many. Victor Campbell, beloved husband, dad, and brother; you are dearly loved, you will be greatly missed, and memories of you will be cherished and kept close to our hearts.

 

Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Sharon Dare Campbell; sons, Dennis Campbell and Lee Gordon and his wife, Kristi; daughters, Cheryl Campbell Lindsey and her husband, Matt; Tanya Campbell Schindler and her husband, Joe; and Betty Mahan and her husband, Ed; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Campbell Boudreaux; sister, Flo; and brother, George.

 

A gathering of Mr. Campbell’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor.
