Rollie John Parrish, 62, of Nederland, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur, due to complications originating from a stroke in 2007. He was born January 31, 1951, to Loretta Grace Mong and Raymond Benedict Parrish (R.B.) in Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Rollie was a veteran of the United States Army, having served and received a bronze star during Vietnam. He was a very compassionate and loving person, who was always willing to lend a hand. Rollie loved the Lord, and will be remembered for his silent strength and goodness. He is survived by his wife, Valinda Stilley Parrish of Nederland; brother, Obie Parrish and his wife, Jeanette, of China; sister, Connie Duplechin and her husband, Joe, of Orangefield; brothers-in-law, Harold Stilley and his wife, Elaine, of Port Neches; Danny Stilley and Lawanna Stilley, of Orange; and William Stilley and his wife, Cheryl, of Nederland; sister-in-law, Carrol Callaway and her husband, Stanley, of Timpson, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rollie is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Parrish; mother and father-in-law, Otto and Maxine Stilley; and nephew, Glenn Stilley. A gathering of Mr. Parrish’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. The family would like to extend special thanks to his best friends, Harold and Elaine Stilley, for providing enduring support; Tammie Isbell for all her hard work and loyalty throughout the years; and Paul Trepanier, who provided compassionate assistance and friendship.
