Elbert Parker, 89, of Honey Island, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Eliazabeth, Beaumont.  He was born on June 29, 1923, in Warren, to Bertie Bussell Parker and Allen Parker.  Elbert was a United States Air Force veteran and retired with Kirby Lumber Company.

Survivors include his children, Diane Sales of Jacksonville; Pete Sales and his wife, Sandy; Randy Parker; and Leroy Parker and his wife, Lori, all of Honey Island; twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy Parker of Warren; brother, R.A. Parker of Honey Island; and sisters, Nelda Dacus of Honey Island and Betty Jo Roth of Hull.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Lou Parker; son, Gary Parker; and numerous brothers and sisters.

A gathering of Mr. Parker’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at William Hart Cemetery, Kountze.
