Kristy Michelle Ulibarri, 36, of Winnie, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Christus Hospital St Elizabeth, Beaumont, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born February 13, 1977, to Leonard Askew and Debbie McCrary, in Albany, Georgia. Kristy lived in the Winnie area for three months and had resided in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for the previous eighteen years. Kristy worked as a teacher in day care.

She is survived by her mother, Debbie Burgess and her husband, Dallas, of Winnie; father, Leonard Askew of Leesburg, Georgia; stepsons, J.T. Ulibarri  of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kyle Ulibarri of Hope Mills, North Carolina; stepdaughter, Camie Ulibarri  of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughters, Brittany Askew, MacKenzie Ulibarri, and Emily Ulibarri, all of Winnie; brother, Michael Askew and his wife, Jennifer, of Leesburg, Georgia; sister, Amanda Drawdy; and half-sister, Alysha Kimsey and her husband, J.T., all of Tifton, Georgia.

A gathering of Ms. Ulibarri’s family and friends will begin at 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery Road, Winnie.
