Terrance "Terry" Kit Winter 
September 30, 1939 - May 4, 2013

Terry Winter, 73, of Kountze, died Saturday, May 4, 2013.  He was born on September 30, 1939, in El Paso, to Phyllis Glasgow Winter and Cyril Daniel Winter. Terry was a United States Army veteran. Terry worked for Eastex Pulp and Paper for fifteen years and was a shrimper for twenty years. He retired as a correctional officer with Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

 

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Martha Winter; son, Richard Kerry Winter and his wife, Sydney of Warren; brother, John Glasgow and his wife, Nancy, of East Haven, Connecticut; sisters, Linda Fetters and her husband, Tom, and Judy Valey and her husband, Ed, both of Van Buren, Arkansas; in-laws, Ida Glasgow of Pflugerville, Phyllis Glasgow of Livingston, Margaret Robertson of Center, and Wilma and Robert Langston, Bo and Juanita Landis, and John and Becky Landis, all of Kountze; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

 

Terry is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bob Glasgow and Richard Glasgow.

 

A gathering of Mr. Winter’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 470 Monroe, Kountze.  A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
