Elsie Marie Broaddus, 82, of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, surrounded by her family, at Methodist Hospital, Houston.  She was born on July 10, 1930, in Port Arthur, to Alice Bash Guidry and Otis Guidry, and had been a longtime resident of Warren. Elsie was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, J.L. Broaddus; children,  Kerry Broaddus of Clearwater, Florida, Kelly Henderson of Warren, Tony Broaddus of Pineland, and Dana Smith of Warren; grandchildren, Robbie Smith, Rebecca Broaddus, Cory Broaddus, Dallas Broaddus, and Allyssa Richard; brothers, Clifford Guidry, Ray Guidry, and Marvin Guidry;  and sisters, Alice Faye Greer, Bernice Guidry, and Carol Ann Demayea.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Steve Broaddus.

A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  A memorial service for Mrs. Broaddus will be held at a later date.
