Mary “Tess” Wilhelm, 94, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on July 13, 1918, to Louisa May Davis O’Connor and Patrick O’Connor, in Innisfail North Queensland, Australia, and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1994.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Whitmire and her husband, Clyde, of Beaumont; son, Michael Wilhelm and his wife, Lisa, of Flower Mound; grandchild, Larry Whitmire of Bosier, Louisiana; brothers, Pat O’Connor and his wife, Patsy, of Townsville, Australia and Brian O’Connor of Tinana, Australia; and sister, Kathy Tait of Innisfail, Australia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Matthew Wilhelm, Sr.; son, Lawrence Matthew Wilhelm, Jr.; brothers, Jimmy O’Connor, Eamon O’Connor, Neil O’Connor, and Danny O’Connor; and sister, Peggy Bliss.

A gathering of Mrs. Wilhelm’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, in the Chapel at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with a committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
