Concetta “Tina” Pitone Hargroder, 77, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on January 25, 1936, in Naples, Italy, and grew up in Livorno, Italy, where her family moved to after World War II. As a young bride in 1957, Tina came to the United States living first in Louisiana and then settling in Beaumont, where she raised her five girls. Tina retired from Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont as an EKG Technician after twenty plus years of service.

She enjoyed listening to opera and country western music. Most of all, Tina loved spending time with her family. In her younger years, she loved to dance. Tina was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making meals for her family and spending time with them and her many friends.       

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Mallet of Beaumont; Janet Sterling and her husband, Jimmy, of China; Bonnie Petkovsek and her husband, David, of Conroe; Connie Thomasson and her husband, Bart, of Fannett; and Carol Ann Hargroder of Beaumont; grandchild, Caleb Thomasson; sister, Anna “Nina” Ferretti and her husband, Livio; nieces, Laura Chinassi and her husband, Alberto and Claudia Trovatelli and her husband, Stefano; and great-nephews, Luca Chinassi, Alessio Trovatelli, Sabrina Pitone, and Ansel Pitone.

Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Filomena Anzovino Pitone and Vincenzo Pitone; brothers, Giovanni “Johnny” Pitone and Salvatore Pitone.

A gathering of Ms. Hargroder’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
