Gloria Newman, 73, of Nederland, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. She was born January 3, 1940, to Margarite Michna Broussard and Elton Broussard, in Nederland, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Gloria devoted her life to being a homemaker and caring for her family. She loved being a mom to her sons and spending time with her granddaughter. Gloria enjoyed reading, fishing and collecting angels and cherubs.

She is survived by her husband, C.C. Newman; sons, Tracy C. Newman and his wife, Jennifer, of Hemphill and Steve A. Newman and his wife, Rebecca, of Nederland; mother, Margarite Broussard of Port Arthur; granddaughter, Madison Newman; and brothers, Eugene Broussard and his wife, Barbara, and Gerald Broussard and his wife, Maurine, all of Nederland.

Gloria is preceded in death by her father, Elton Broussard.

A gathering of Mrs. Newman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
