Josephine Breaux Menard. 90, of Winnie, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Winnie Community Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1922, in Morse, Louisiana, to Isreal and Eve Breaux, Josephine was their tenth child, and she is the last of her generation in the Breaux family.

Josephine spent her life taking care of her family, which was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed cooking for everybody, until recent years, playing Bingo, going to the Young at Heart parties, playing games with all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even her great-great-grandchildren. As we were growing up, we remembered that first thing in the morning, we never saw our mother without her make-up on, hair done, jewelry in place, or a smile on her face, and then we knew she was ready to meet family, friend, or the world. She enjoyed going to all of the Breaux family reunions, visiting with everyone and catching up on all the family news. Josephine was famous for bringing her banana pudding to the Winnie Square parties where she lived with her daughter, Gail. She loved God and going to First Baptist Church of High Island and her church family.

Josephine devoted her life to her family and will be terribly missed by all of them.

She is survived by her son, Albert Menard and his wife, Linda, of Conroe; daughter, Gail Kahla of Winnie; grandchildren, Clabert Menard, Vickie Cline, Ron Menard, Lacey McKenzie, Tammy Pilsner, and Tracy Graham; great-grandchildren, Ronnie Menard, Tabitha Kern, Josh Menard, C. J. Menard, Cassidy Johnson, Tasha Guidry, Tiffany Boyett, Rusty Garland, Hunter Blake, and Dylan Blake; great-great-grandchildren, Branden Guidry, Paige Guidry, Rikki Humphries, Colton Bibler, Megan Sheppard, Zachary Boyett, Kiley Boyett, Madison Garland, Caleb Garland, Mackenzie Garland, Lochlainn Menard, Jhonen Menard, and Wyatt Johnson; and numerous other family members and friends.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clabert Joseph “Bee” Menard.

A gathering of Mrs. Menard’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
