Carolyn Sue Kuhn 
May 30, 1951 - April 9, 2013

Carolyn Sue Kuhn, age 61, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She was born on May 30, 1951, to Margaret Pierce Kuhn and Frank B. Kuhn, in Houston, Texas. She graduated in 1969 from Forest Park High School in Beaumont and in 1973 from Baylor University, Waco with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She began her career at Superior Oil where she also studied and earned her C.P.A. She lived in Houston area for the next thirty years. Her declining health brought her back to Beaumont and the Crystal Beach area the remainder of her life. She died peacefully at her mother’s home with her family by her side.

 

She possessed many talents and interests throughout her lifetime. She was quick witted, intelligent, an avid reader, collector, an amateur bible scholar, family historian and photographer. Carolyn began collecting rocks in childhood, mounting and identifying each one; she went on to collecting seashells and paintings of historic lighthouses. In early adulthood she traveled the United States camping and touring historic lighthouses. She was a loyal and ferocious Dallas Cowboys fan. She had the ability to develop rapport with many people of all age groups. Carolyn loved nature and everything about Crystal Beach.

 

Carolyn will be remembered for her Love of God, family, friends, and her country. No matter where she was, her Texas and American flags would be flying.

 

She is preceded in death by her father, Frank B. Kuhn.

 

Survivors include her mother, Margaret P. Kuhn; brother, Frank Blake Kuhn; sisters, Judy Ann Kuhn and Sandra Kuhn Touchstone and her husband, Clay; nieces and nephews, Heath and Julie Kuhn; Stacey and Kenneth Holder; Michelle and Jordan Brumley; Ryan and Kerie Adams; Greg Adams; Colton Bernsen; and Patrick Bernsen; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Betty Roberts and her children, Randy, Denise and Curtis and their spouses.

Carolyn’s family would like to thank Teresa Rivera for her kindness and compassion and also Latoya Kelly and Eloise Moore with Texas Home Health Hospice.

Ms. Kuhn's memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Calder Baptist Church, 1005 North 11th Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

 

Her heart never left the Calder Baptist Church family, where she was nurtured and loved by so many. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Calder Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1005 North 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.
