Ronald Alan Bean, 65, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 23, 1948, in Beaumont, to Laura Harrington Bean and Frank Willis Bean, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Ronald worked many years for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was currently employed with FJC Security Services at Beaumont Social Security, ODAR, and U.S. Attorney’s Office.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Petkovsek Bean; mother, Laura Bean of Beaumont; son, Chris Bean and his wife, Brandy, of Silsbee and Brian Bean of Beaumont; brother, Gary Bean and his wife, Karen, of League City; one grandchild on the way; nephew, Brent Bean and his wife, Jennifer; niece, Krystal Bailey and her husband, Brandon; and four great-nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Bean’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Broussard’s, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Grigoriy Rodonaia, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Mahan from Altus Cancer Center, and all the nursing staff for the care Ronnie received.
