Johnnie Lee Scott, 78, of Nederland, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2013, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born June 7, 1934, to Nolia and John Bernard and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Johnnie was a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, class of 1952. Before her retirement, she was employed as a Municipal Library Clerk. Johnnie was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Port Neches. She loved to read and work out with her friends at Curves. Most of all, Johnnie enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Charles Scott of Nederland; daughters, Kim Reese and her husband, Darrett, of Port Arthur; Lissa Berea and her husband, Valentin, of Katy; Phyllis Ellis and her husband, Richard, of Port Neches and Julie Scott of Houston; son, Mark Scott and his wife, Lisa, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Angie Belaire and her husband, Seth; Michelle Mc Celvey and her husband, Chris; Jessica Ellis; Brandon, Madison and Parker Scott; and Nathan Berea; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Camryn and Hudsyn Mc Celvey; and Tucker and Dexter Belaire; sisters, Eldora Jettun of Fort Worth, Connie Landry of Port Neches and June Kondrup of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Michael Paul Scott.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
