Lorene Oliver, 88, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont.  She was born on September 19, 1924, in Apple Springs, to Minnie Oliver Powell and Joe Powell.  Lorene was a retired waitress with the Pig Stand.

Survivors include her children, Allen Hensley and his wife, Shay, of Sour Lake and Liz McCrory and her husband, Larry, of Baytown; grandchildren, Heath Hensley, Kimberley Hamilton, Lisa Johnston, and Kara Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Gibson of Wells.

A gathering of Mrs. Oliver’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her committal will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
