Abner Walter Rutledge, Jr., 65, of Silsbee, died Saturday, March 16, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1947, in Vidor, to Emma Jean Ward Rutledge and Abner W. Rutledge, Sr. Abner served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Rutledge; children, Karrie Wagner and her husband, Rick, of Conroe; Marvin Gallier, Jr. of Silsbee; Kimberly Cheatwood and her husband, Glen, of Silsbee; and Abner Walter Rutledge, III of Rosharon; grandchildren, Dylan Rutledge, Creed Oreck, Chelsi Cheatwood, Jentri Cheatwood, and Nicholas Wagner; mother, Emma Jean Rutledge of Vidor; sister, Rebecca Bridges and her husband, Joe, of Vidor; and brother, David Rutledge of Vidor. He is preceded in death by his father. Cremation arrangements are being held by Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
