Elizabeth “Libbie” Jean Mokry, 73, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.

She was born on May 11, 1939, to Julia Shoemaker Vetters and Clarence Vetters, in Waco, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1962.

Survivors include her husband, John Mokry; daughters, Margaret Deshotels and her husband, Paul, of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Jean Elliott and her husband, Mark, of Mansfield; son, Chris Mokry and Tammy Wilson, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Erin Heartfield of Beaumont; Ashley Holland of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Shannon Elliott of Mansfield; Lindsay Elliott of Conway, Arkansas; and Abigail Mokry of Beaumont; and sister, Sharon Untermeyer.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Mokry’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
