Maretta Jean LeJune

Maretta Jean LeJune, 73, of Beaumont, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was born on January 20, 1940, and was the youngest daughter of Percy and Ida Manuel of China, Texas. Maretta was a beloved wife, momma, sister, Maw Maw, Nanny, and Aunt Jean. She shared a love of sports with her husband and children, and volunteered for many activities in support of her children and deep faith in the Lord. She and her husband shared a love for music and dance, and that love continues to be passed along to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of nearly fifty-seven years, George LeJune; children, Georgetta Calhoun and her husband, Charles, of Kountze; Christa Hollier of Port Neches; Nancy Schilhab and her husband, Steve, of Pflugerville; and Burt LeJune and his wife, Lisa, of Oakhill, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Tommie Lynn LeJune of Pearland; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearlie Parker of Beaumont, LeeAnna Fontenot and her husband, Wade, of China; and niece, Bonnie Pinder and her husband, Wilbert, of Fannett.
Preceding her in death were her parents; oldest son, Mark LeJune; brother, Melvin Manuel; and sister, Hazel Schexnider.
A Rosary for Mrs. LeJune will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow, Monday, March 11, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
