Norris Abshire, 83, of Winnie died Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Arboretum of Winnie. Born August 23, 1929, in Duson, Louisiana, Norris was the son of Dudley and Matilda Abshire. Norris worked as a foreman in the petroleum industy.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra Garner and her husband, Homer of Fannett, Marilyn Beaugh and her husband, Larry, Vanessa Revia and her husband, Mike all of Winnie; Sister, Bertha McBride and her husband, Arthur of Winnie; grandchildren, Denise Smith, Raquel Johnson, Royce Beaugh, Christie Beaugh, Jay Revia, Salina Beaugh, and Veronica Ferry; great- grandchilden, Tyler Smith, Jessica Smith, Justin Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Lainey Beaugh, Milla Beaugh, Kauri Ferry, Nolan Ferry, Toby Hulin, Genna Tate, and  Bella Tate; great-great grandchild, Braxlie Wolfe; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.

Norris is preceded in death by his wife, Uella Simon Abshire; and brother, Joseph Sandrus Abshire.

A gathering of Mr. Abshire’s family and friends will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
