Daniel Wayne Boone, 91, of Winnie, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Memorial Medical Center, Lufkin. He was born on June 13, 1921, in Cuero, to Maudie Bishop Boone and Albert L. Boone and had been a resident of Winnie since 1975.

Daniel was a World War II Army veteran, and worked as a tool pusher in the petroleum industry before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and traveling in their RV.

Daniel is survived by his son, Albert Boone and his wife, Thelma, of Winnie; daughters, Janet Foote and her husband, Roger, of Bronson; Vickie Hoffpauir and her husband, Robert, of Winnie; and Pam Anding of Groves; brothers, Charles Boone and his wife, Peggy, of Spring, and Donald Boone and his wife, Pat of Cut and Shoot; sister, Dale Areola and her husband, Ken, of Willis; grandchildren Laron Branton and her husband, Greg; Darrell Boone and his wife, Lezetta; Kathy Carnahnan; Wesley Boone and his wife, Tammy Boone; Aaron Boone and his wife, Amy; Roger Wayne Dugas and his wife, Cita; Lynn Dugas; Randy Foote; Cody Foote and his wife, Melissa; Katrina Wright and her husband, Josh; Billy Hoffpauir and his wife, Jamie; Chris Lauve; Britney Underwood and her husband, Steven; Amanda Devillier; and Britton Anding; great-grandchildren, Eric Branton, Clay Carnahan, Joshua Carnahan, Christopher Carnahan, Dustin Boone, Patrick Phelps, Evan Boone, Bryant Dugas, Steven Dugas, Landen Dugas, Kinley Dugas, Kailyn Dugas, Logan Dugas, Rebecca Dugas, Cheyann Foote, Kaci Foote, Leah Foote, Bailey Wright, Allie Wright, Silas Hoffpauir, Tristan Hoffpauir, Mykayla Pinson, Braeleigh Pinson, Kaydence Pinson, Tatum Peters, and Emery Stevens; and great-great-grandchild, Autumn Branton; their family pet, Angela Boone; and numerous family members and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Boone’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Broussard’s. A graveside service for Mr. Boone will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, Inc., 1101 Antoine Drive, Katy Freeway, Houston.
