Mary Magdelene Arnold Chesson, 90, of Bevil Oaks, left her earthly home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2013. She was born on December 13, 1922, to Lolla Bessie Godwin Arnold and Henry Clay Arnold, Sr., and lived most of her childhood in Orange and Little Cypress.

In her teen years, they moved to Beaumont where she graduated from Beaumont High School in 1940. On February 23, 1951, she married R. G. “Gene” Chesson and together they resided in South Park for fifty-seven years moving to Bevil Oaks in 2008. They were blessed with two daughters.

Mary is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, R. G. “Gene” Chesson of Bevil Oaks; daughters, Sidney Gene Keneson and Kerry “Sissie” Nevils Jiménez and her husband, Larry, all of Bevil Oaks; grandchildren, Brandy McCall Rios and her husband, Maurice Rios; Daryl McCall; and Ryan McCall and his wife, Kristin; great-grandchildren, Cadence Rios, Kirsten McCall, Stacey McCall, Nicolas McCall, and Jayden McCall; sister, Maxine Hatton; brothers, William Arnold and his wife, Francis and Jim Arnold and his wife, Francis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; baby sister, Bertha Evelyn Arnold; baby brother, Mark Jackson Arnold and Henry Clay Arnold, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jean Arnold; son-in-law, Gary Nevils; and great-grandson, Ryan Clay McCall, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Chesson’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
