Foy Andrew Dacus, 88, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was born on March 8, 1924, in Tyler, to Dezzie Westherby and Auvy Dacus. Foy served in the United States Navy during World War II and later became a heavy equipment operator.

Surviors include daughter, Marie Dear of Lufkin; grandson, Doby Dear of Lufkin; granddaughter, Christi Salmasi and her husband, Cody, of Diboll; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Sydney, and Kevin Hurley, all of Diboll; sisters, Maxine Loden and her husband, Ellis, of Gilmer; Fay Colley and her husband, Robert, of Dallas; and Nan Murry of Gilmer.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Dacus; and brothers, Leon Dacus and Jessie Dacus.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kyle Krohn, the fourth floor nurses and staff of Memorial Health Systems, and Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation for the care given to Foy.

A gathering of Mr. Dacus’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
