Doyce Wayne Gore, Sr., 86, of Nederland, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his residence. Born November 15, 1926, in Silsbee, he was the son of Caroline Josephine Cunningham Gore and Charlie Walter Gore. Mr. Gore was a United States Army veteran. He will be remembered as an excellent farmer, gardener and mechanic. He loved his family and enjoyed animals and fishing. He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Gore-Morris and her fiancé, Timothy King, of Wyandotte, Michigan; son, Doyce Wayne Gore, Jr. of Rockport; grandchildren, Michelle Reyes, Doyce Wayne Gore III and Shane Morris and his wife, Laurelle; great grandson, Connor Morris; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty years, Sybil Gore; one sister; and seven brothers. A gathering of Mr. Gore’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, January 23, 2013, at Central Gardens Baptist Church, 114 4th Avenue, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the church, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., at Cunningham Cemetery, Highway 92 North, Silsbee.
