Clarence Messer, Sr., 68, of Silsbee, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. He was born on April 28, 1944, in Silsbee, to Mabel Lewis Messer and Samuel Davis Messer. Clarence was a retired installer with Southwestern Bell Telephone following thirty-one years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a longtime member of Clarence is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Juanita; his sons, Clarence Messer, Jr. and his wife Katrina; Gerald Messer and his wife Kay; and Samuel Messer, all of Silsbee; brother, Charles Davis Messer of Town Bluff; sisters, Mary Storm of Evadale and Barbara Jenkins of Lincolnton, North Carolina; and eight grandchildren. A gathering of Mr. Messer’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, with military honors provided by Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group. |
