Ruth Ellen Bergdorf, 69, of Fannett, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on March 10, 1943, in Beaumont, to Ethel Dupree Bergdorf and Cleveland “Pick” Bergdorf, and had been a longtime resident of Fannett. Ruth was a retired store clerk with Green Acres Grocery, Fannett.

She is survived by her mother, Ethel Dupree Bergdorf of Fannett; brothers, John Norman Bergdorf and his wife, Trudy, of Beaumont and Jimmy Cleveland Bergdorf and his wife, Jackie, of Hamshire; sisters, Betty Bergdorf Blaylock and her husband, Bill, of Beaumont and Lillian Bergdorf Hebert and her companion, Cy Ladd, of Fannett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her father, Cleveland “Pick” Bergdorf; and great-niece, Taylor Dawn Harris.

A gathering of Miss Bergdorf’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with her Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Road, Fannett, with interment to follow at Landrum Cemetery, Fannett.
