Helen Nugent De Saw 
June 26, 1933 - January 6, 2013

Helen Nugent De Saw, 79, of Nederland, died Sunday, January 6, 2013. She was born June 26, 1933, to Lea and Fred Nugent in Port Neches, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.  Helen was the matriarch of her family and devoted her time to nurturing and caring for them. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting blankets for infants, and reading her bible daily. Helen was a people person and loved to visit with friends and family.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Sherilen Roberts and her husband, Cecil of Nederland; granddaughters, Angel Hearnsberger and her husband, Daren, of Nederland and Rachel Roberts and her husband, Zachary, of New Braunfels; grandsons, Ryan Boone and his wife, Tina, of Fort Worth and Cecil “Robbie” Roberts, Jr. of Houston; great grandchildren, Kelsey Hearnsberger, Melanie Hearnsberger, Lincoln Roberts and Boston Roberts; sister, Mildred “Mickey” Bennett of Nederland; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard W. De Saw; and sister, Doris Morvant.

 

A gathering of Mrs. De Saw’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
