Juanita "Skip" Rohacek 
April 21, 1941 - January 1, 2013

Juanita “Skip” Rohacek, 71, of Port Bolivar, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Kinderd Hospital Clear Lake, Webster. She was born April 21, 1941, in Houston to  Ruth Wilburn Gibson and Alvis Gibson.

Skip was the former owner of Outrigger Grill Restaurant in Crystal Beach. She and was a very caring and giving person who helped orphans and others in need.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Rohacek and her fiancé, Ray Mulkey, of Dickinson; Sherry Chess and her husband, Ron, of Crystal Beach; Lisa Rohacek and fiancée, Rex Ward of League City; Jackie Monteau and her husband, Gary, and Jodie Barrow and her husband, Kendall, all of Winnie; Jennifer Reed, and Billie Jo Rohacek and her husband, Jason Warren, all of Port Bolivar; brothers, Roger Cowie and his wife, Barbara of Crystal Beach and Joe “Little Joe” Cowie and his wife, Sue of California; sister, Linda Gibson Elmore of Oregon; closest and dearest friends, Nancy Sanchez and Rose Norris; grandchildren, Brittany Schiff, Cassie Schiff, Shania Schiff, Cheyanne Schiff, Savannah Stapleton, Josey Pavelka, Leslie Pavelka, Whitney Rohacek, Nikki Considine, John-Michael Samonte, Sheridan Ciampo, Gary Monteay Jr., Tyler Honea, Nicole Honea, Tony Reed Jr., Jo Jo Reed and Gavin Warren; and great-grandchildren, Keira Gray, Cooper Gray, Emmie Eggleston, Carolina Stapleton, Sadie Guidry and Memphis Guidry; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A gathering of Mrs. Rohacek’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., January 4, 2013, at BayVue Methodist Church, 1141 Texas Hwy 87, Crystal Beach, with interment to follow at Crystal Beach Cemetery.
