Sam Lanphier, 41, of Nederland, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Mary, Port Arthur. Born May 23, 1971, he was the son of Clara and Renne Lanphier. Sam was employed as a maintenance technician with ICO Polymers. He enjoyed spending his spare time doing leatherwork, setting up trade shows, and going to the Texas Renaissance Festival, and Kemah Boardwalk.

Sam will be remembered as a compassionate and thoughtful entrepreneur who loved his family dearly. His biggest love was for his wife, Casey.

Sam is survived by his wife, Casey Lanphier of Nederland; children, Destiny Lanphier of Nederland, Allyce Lanphier and Ashllie Lanphier, both of Athens, Adrienne Wells, Jillian Wells, and Ethan Wells, all of Nederland; parents, Clara and Renne Lanphier of Manvel; and sister, Wendy Chiles and her husband, James, of Florida.

A gathering Mr. Lanphier’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service  to follow at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
