George William Lowry, 69, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 29, 2012. He was born on September 5, 1943, in Denison, to Ruby Ester Day Lowry and Hubert Lowry. George was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was a plant supervisor for Texas Industries in Beaumont and other cities.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gail; children, Teresa Morgan and her husband, Kenneth, of Reidsville, Georgia, Tracy Flathers and her husband, David, of Greenville, Tennessee, and Todd Lowry and his wife, Veronica, of Corpus Christi; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A gathering of Mr. Lowry’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013, at First Assembly of God, 950 Highway 96 South, Silsbee, with interment to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery, Silsbee.
