Sylvia “Tibb” Jean Carnes, 67, of Silsbee, died Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was born on May 29, 1945, in Lufkin, to Stella Modisette Edwards and Cecil Edwards.

Survivors include her children, Rodney Moss and his wife, Christie, of Evadale and Joey Moss and his wife, Debbie, of Jasper; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Powers of Evadale, Frances Smith of Bay Cliff, and Sandra Edwards of Lufkin; brothers, Cecil “Lucky” Edwards and his wife, Stephanie, of Grapeland and Timothy Edwards and his wife, Kathy, of Magnolia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mrs. Carnes’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, Gann Cemetery in Lufkin.
