Elia “Edie” Wright, 78, of Nederland, went to be with her Lord on December 28, 2012.  Edie was born on April 19, 1934, to Leonce and Edna Duhon in Kaplan, Louisiana.  After moving to the area in the 1950s, she and Dale married on January 20, 1962. In March of 1969, she accepted Jesus as her personal Savoir.   Edie became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nederland where she cared for infants in the nursery and taught Sunday school.

Edie is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Dale R. Wright Sr.; daughters, Vicky Wright McMillen and her husband, David, and Dixie Wright Dubuisson and her husband, Jerry; son,  Dale Ray Wright Jr. and his wife, Debra; brother, Thomas Duhon; four grandchildren, Ray McMillen, Heather Winters, J.C. McMillen, and Travis Wright; six great-grandchildren, and brother, Thomas Duhon . She was Godmother to three nieces; Claudean Duhon, Rayetta Huard, and Jessica Estopinal; and one nephew, David Duhon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ida Fuller; and brothers, Cloy, Paul, and Harry Duhon and D. J. Bouillion.

A gathering of Mrs. Wright’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
