Janice Elizabeth Conn Christopher, 86, of Beaumont, and a resident of Atria Collier Park, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on March 2, 1926, to Edwina Felkers Conn and Eli “Pete” Conn, in Merryville, Louisiana, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1932. Janice was a retired financial clerk for Lamar University.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, Gerald Christopher; daughter, Sondra Mayfield and her husband, Mike, of Beaumont; sons, Rodger Christopher and his wife, Sarah, of Beaumont; Blake Christopher and his wife, Ladonna, of Kirbyville; Brent Christopher and his wife, Patricia, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Christopher Mayfield, Shelby Collins, Josh Christopher, Jenna Christopher, Morgan Christopher, Cody Christopher, Sarah Bowerman, Kelli Jones, Eric Christopher, Caleb Christopher, Dustin Christopher, and Nicholas Christopher; sixteen great-grandchildren; and caregiver and friend, Edith Harness.

She is preceded in death by her parents; adopted father, Olaf Pettersen; and sister, Virginia Agasen.

A gathering celebration of Mrs. Christopher’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Broussard’s. A family committal will be held at a later date.
