Louis “L.C.” Fontenot, 92, of Beaumont, died Friday, December 14, 2012.  He was born on January 13, 1920, in Oberlin, Louisiana, to Ellen Marcantel Fontenot and Todas Fontenot, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.  L.C. was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II and retired as accounting manager with Sun Oil following thirty-six years of service.

Survivors include his children, Dwayne Fontenot and his wife, Gloria, of Dallas; Doug R. Fontenot and his wife, Lois, of Beaumont; and Mary Ellen vonNetzer of Beaumont; grandchildren, Michelle Fontenot, Brian Fontenot, Justin Fontenot, Andrea Fontenot, Melissa Barrett, Christina Goins, and Sabrina vonNetzer; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Calla Fontenot.

A Rosary for Mr. Fontenot will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends to follow, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
