James Richard Lusk, 73, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012. James was born on March 30, 1939, in Beaumont, to Ella Maudette Jones Lusk and John Richard Lusk, Jr.  He was a United States Navy veteran where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was retired from Universal and Brown and Root Construction as an electrical inspector.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lusk; mother, Ella Maudette Lusk Turkleson of Lumberton; children, Karie Enderli and her husband, Adam, of Dayton; April Stanton and her husband, Roy, of Sour Lake; Elena Kelley and her husband, Dewayne, of Thicket; Robert Joseph Lusk and his wife, Deborah, of Friendswood; Carolyn Hardy of LaPorte; and Robert Lee Miller, Jr. of Wenatchee, Washington; brothers, Frank Lusk of Sour Lake and Don Turkleson of Houston; sisters, Mary Ella Rouen of Houston and Margaret L. Turkleson of Montgomery, Alabama; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his father; brother, Wayne Lusk; and sister, Sharon Eckelkamp.

A gathering of Mr. Lusk’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
