James “Jimmy” E. Kent, 62, of Port Neches, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born January 11, 1950, to Mildred and James E. Kent, Sr. in Texas City, and been a resident of the Mid-county area for seventeen years. Jimmy spent his career working as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed surfing, bull riding in rodeo’s, and worked beach patrol in Galveston as a lifeguard, but Jimmy will mostly be remembered for his love of photography and the photos he captured. Survivors include his sister, Linda Chambers and her husband, Ralph, of Lumberton; nephews, Ralph Lenzie Chambers of Lumberton and Craig A. Chambers and his wife, Alisha, of Baytown; niece, Jennifer Chambers of Lumberton; great nephews, Kenon Chambers and Joshua, Nicholas and Trevor Clark; great nieces, Jessica Chambers, Alyssa Harkrider and Genesis Chambers; and many other cousins, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. His memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
