Aleene Bernice Cobb
December 4, 1926 - October 26, 2012

Aleene B. Cobb, 85, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 26, 2012. A native of Beaumont, she was the daughter of Viola and Wilmer Evans. Aleene grew up in Beaumont and attended Rosedale Elementary, Roy Guess Junior High, and graduated from Beaumont High in 1944. She met the love of her life and future husband, James Gregory Cobb, Sr., in 1940 and later married on October 4, 1944, in Santa Barbara, California, where Gregory was stationed in the United States Marine Corps.

While raising her family, Aleene helped her husband establish and operate Cobb Air Condition for over forty years. Later, she and Gregory founded Cobb Construction in Crystal Beach, Texas.

Aleene was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved watching her family enjoy the many meals she prepared for them. Aleene was an excellent cook and took pride in teaching the family how to prepare many dishes; eventually leading to a family cookbook shared by many in the community. Mrs. Cobb was fortunate enough to travel the world over with her husband and family. Entertaining friends and family at her home and beach house was always one of her favorite endeavors. Aleene valued her husband, family, and friends above all else.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, James Gregory Cobb, Sr.; daughters, Dianne Cobb Walker and her husband, Howell Haywood Walker; Patty Cobb Maida and her husband, Peter Wilson Maida; son, James Gregory Cobb, Jr. and wife, Paulette Devillier Cobb, all of Beaumont; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Aleene's friend and extraordinary caregiver, Gloria Dickens.

Aleene was a special lady who will be missed by all knew and loved her.
