Kathryn Lea Davis, 51, of Beaumont, died Saturday, October 27, 2012.  She was born on March 2, 1961, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Inez L. Cropper and Charles W. Thorp, and had been a resident of the area since 1982. Kathryn graduated from Lamar University in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in education and taught pre-kindergarten at Martin Elementary for over twenty years. Teaching was her passion and she held a special place in her heart for all her students. Kathryn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over thirty years.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Davis and his wife, Alison; father, Charles Thorp; sister, Carolyn Gosselin and her husband, Robert; nephews, Nicholas and Joey Gosselin; nieces, Lauren and Abigail Gosselin; and fiancé, Randall Franks.

She is preceded in death by her husband of more than fifteen years, John Raymond Davis; and mother, Inez Thorp.

A gathering of Mrs. Davis’ family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
