Lena Elizabeth LaRocca, 98, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 19, 2012, in Beaumont.  She was born on April 13, 1914, in Beaumont, to Jenny Daleo and Joseph Lovoi.  She graduated from Beaumont High School and Beauty School.

Lena was owner and operator of Lea’s Beauty Shop until 1978 when she retired to take care of her older sister, Vince Lomonte, who had open heart surgery.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was president of the Church Council for two terms and a member of the Ladies Altar Society until she moved her membership to St. Jude Catholic Church to be near her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne Karen Dunlap and her husband, Larry and Catherine Armstrong; grandchildren, Stephen M. LeBlanc and his wife, Susan; Sharon Lynn Hale, and her husband, Joe; and Justin Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Craig Cormier, Kevin and Catherine (Catie) LeBlanc; Jacob, Garrett, and Kacie Hale; and Larry C. Dunlap; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jasper Lovoi, Frank Lovoi, and Denny Lovoi; sisters, Venci Lomonte and Rose Luparello.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
