Kimberly Marie Correia peacefully returned to her Lord on October 19, 2012, in her sleep.  Kimberly was born on July 13, 1994, in Opelika, Alabama. She spent her first four years in Auburn, Alabama, before moving with her family to Beckley, West Virginia.  After two years she settled in Beaumont, Texas, where she attended Sallie Curtis Elementary School. 

During her elementary years, she enjoyed school, soccer, softball, dance, and singing in the St. Jude Youth Choir. In middle school she attended Harmony Science Academy, where Kimberly excelled academically and won numerous awards for science and singing. In high school, she enjoyed writing, singing, and drama. Kimberly also continued to be involved in her church helping with vacation bible school, gather the children, teen choir, and eventually as a religious education teacher. Kimberly enjoyed serving as a volunteer with the ARC of Greater Beaumont organization working with special needs children and adults. She graduated Valedictorian of her Class in 2012 from Premier High School. Kimberly recently began attending Lamar University on a full academic scholarship where she was majoring in special education. She proudly participated in a recent production of The Quilters, a stage production put on by Lamar University earlier this month. Kimberly shared her great Christian influence and positive spirit on life with her family and friends. Nothing was more important to her than her faith and helping others in need. She touched the lives of many people with her smiles, sparkling blue eyes, and her faith. 

Kimberly will forever be remembered by her parents, Anne and Kevin; her sisters, Kelly and Kristy; her grandmother, Lauretta Correia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know her.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rosalie and Ben Hope, and Robert Correia. 

A gathering of Kimberly’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2012, at Broussards, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with her committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
