Richard Daniels 
January 30, 1946 - October 19, 2012

Richard Daniels, 66, of Winnie, went home to his heavenly Father, Friday, October 19, 2012, at his home in Winnie, surrounded by his loving family and friends.  He was born on January 30, 1946, in Kirbyville, to Beatrice Brown Daniels and Willie Daniels.  Richard retired from Escavators as a heavy equipment operator.

 

Richard was known to the local community as the “go-to-guy.” There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! He had a big heart filled with love, compassion, and joy for his family and friends.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter; and a devoted husband, father, paw paw, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

 

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of sixteen years, Janie Daniels; children, Belinda Daniels  and Wendy Booth and her husband, Matt, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Richard Shane Daniels and his wife, Stacy, of Corpus Christi;  Lisa Alegre and her husband, Lucas, of Hillister; Laura Daniels and her fiance’ Justin Stewart of Woodville; Richey Richardson and his wife, Ashlee, of Lumberton;  and Missy L’Italian and her husband, Dwayne of Winnie; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Evie Jo Collins of Woodville; and sister-in-law, Kathy Daniels of Colmesneil.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Beatrice Brown Daniels; and his brother, Arthur “Popeye” Daniels.

 

A gathering of Mr. Daniels’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Gregory Cemetery in Colmesneil.

 

Richard fought a heroic battle with multiple myeloma cancer over eleven years.  There is an account in his name that will be open until November 1, 2012, at www.giveforward.com. for anyone wishing to make donations.
