Truman Crawford, 69, of Kountze, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Kountze. He was born on August 2, 1943, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Tina Mae Barrington and Govenor Crawford.  He served in the United States Navy and retired from Mead Westvaco.

Survivors include his children, Gidgette Self and her husband, Robert, of Saratoga and Vincient Alan Crawford and his wife, Melissa, of Willis; grandchildren, Victoria Daniels and her husband, Bill, of Nome; Randall Self of Saratoga; Cameron Crawford and Jacobe Crawford, both of Willis; great-grandchildren, Garrett Daniels and Gaige Daniels, both of Nome; mother of his children, Vivian Crawford of Buna; brother, Govenor Leon Crawford and his wife, Margie, of Baytown; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Crawford’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna.
