John Wayne Brooks, 57, of Lumberton, died Monday, October 15, 2012. He was born on October 30, 1954, in Mississippi, to Bertha Williams Brooks and Jesse Brooks, and had been a long time resident of the area. John worked as a consultant for MLB Consulting in the oil industry where he traveled throughout the world, wherever his job took him.

He liked boats and motorcycles and also enjoyed golf and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Tolece Brooks; daughters, Hope Brooks and Kimberly Brooks, both of Lumberton; brother, Bill Brooks of North Carolina; and sisters, Linda Sims of North Carolina, Margaret Sims of Tennessee, and Brenda Walley of Mississippi.

John is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Frances West and Carolyn Harzog.

A memorial service for Mr. Brooks will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
