Jay Gregory “Greg” Comeaux, 49, of Port Acres, died on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at his residence. Born on April 17, 1963, to Barbara Borel Mayfield and Jesse Comeaux, he had been a lifetime resident of the area. After graduating from Hamshire-Fannett High School in 1981, he served and worked for the Army National Guard for twenty years. Greg currently worked at the vehicle maintenance facility for the US Postal Service in Beaumont. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved restoring and racing old cars. He is survived by his longtime companion, Dawn Janssen of Port Neches; daughters, Laura Cassel and her husband, Chris, of Houston; Bonnie Comeaux of Beaumont; son, John Comeaux of Fannett; grandson, Brayson Cassel of Houston; father, Jesse Comeaux of Lago Vista; mother, Barbara Borel Mayfield of Kountze; sisters, Ginger LeBlanc and her husband, Ray, of Port Arthur; Donna Comeaux and her fiancé, Mark Purser, of Groves; Cheryl Barnett and her husband, Richard, of Kountze; brother, Steven Comeaux and his wife, Miranda, of Sarnen, Switzerland; grandmother, Hazel Borel of Silsbee; and a host of other relatives and friends. A gathering of Mr. Comeaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Broussard’s. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Daniels Cemetery, Kountze.
