Winnie Robicheaux Huckaby, 83, of Hemphill, formerly of Mid-County, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Hemphill Care Center, Hemphill. She was born on October 20, 1928, in Port Arthur, to Emerante Poche Robicheaux and Joseph Robicheaux. Winnie worked as a restaurant owner, managing Eagle Café and the Cajun Hut Restaurants. She was a member of St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, Port Arthur. Winnie was also a member of the Cajun Club. Winnie is survived by her special and loving husband of thirty-six years, E. J. “PePaw” Huckaby; sons, Wayne Blanchard of Silsbee and Tim Huckaby of Fort Worth; daughters, Judy Biscamp of Jasper, Kathy Jacobs of Houston, and Cindy Huckaby of Fort Worth; special granddaughter, Kerri Roberts Oliver; sisters, Barbara Boudreaux of Fairmont, Patricia (Patsy) Sturlese of Hillister, and Priscilla (Pat) Roy of Port Neches; and numerous additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert O’Neal; grandson, Robert O’Neal Blanchard, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Johnson and Mildred Theriot; and brother, John L. Robicheaux. A gathering of Mrs. Robicheaux’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
