Helen Ann Richmond, 97, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012. She was born February 8, 1915, in Beaumont, to Alma Kojak Debes and Reverend Gabriel Debes. Helen was a lifetime resident of Beaumont where she lived with her husband Raymond. They owned and operated Ray’s Food Town in Silsbee for over thirty-five years. She had a passion for cooking Lebanese sweets and meals for her family. However, she will always be remembered for her cakes that she made every Sunday. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Billie Debes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Raymond Richmond; siblings, Lillie Belle Buchanan, Edna Mamo, Margaret Husbands, Rhoda Carter, Alice Arledge, and Jim Debes, Jr. A gathering of Mrs. Richmond’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
